Whenever we travel to a new location we look for what's unique in that town or area. For example, we go eat a restaurant that's particular to that area rather than just eat at national chain restaurants.
The Rapid City Dino Park is unique and worth being on your list of things to do in Rapid City.
What's it Like?
You can actually see the large dino statues up on a hill while driving around Rapid City. After climbing the hill you'll come to a parking lot. Then climb up several sets of stairs and you'll find about 4 dino statues.
The kids like climbing and posing for pictures on the dinos. It was also a nice open area to run around. Plus you have a panoramic view of Rapid City.
We visited in late September which meant that the park closed after 5pm I believe. I guess during the summer they have lights on the dinos that may make it more interesting at night.
For our family, we weren't big fans of the dino park. I'm not sure I'd make that a major stop or visit again.
